What is Primary Agriculture in a nutshell?
In a nutshell the primary agriculture programme covers all sciences around plant and animal production and nutrition as well as the economical impact thereof. With this programme you can enter the agriculture field either as a farmer, manager or advisor. This programme integrates academic knowledge and theory with practical skills and values.

Which are the fundamental subjects?
The 3 fundamental subjects are:

  • Language which must at least be a language of teaching and learning,
  • Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy and
  • Life Orientation.

What are the Vocational Subjects in Primary Agriculture?
The Vocational subjects in Primary Agriculture are:

  • Plant Production
  • Animal Production
  • Farm Planning and Mechanisation
  • Soil Science
  • Agri-business
  • Advanced Plant Production
